The transformation of the historic Rheinstahl warehouse, originally designed by Emil Fahrenkamp in 1923, into a versatile event space required the addition of several new features, including a foyer, storage areas, technical facilities, and restrooms. To maintain the visual integrity of the distinctive timber hall, these elements were incorporated into newly constructed extensions at the front and rear of the building. These additions, designed as a continuous volume that frames the original structure, are visually separated from the historic hall by glass joints on both sides. This design choice allows natural light to illuminate the original façade while clearly distinguishing the new elements from the old. The sawtooth roof structure of the extensions is supported by steel columns, a nod to the site's industrial heritage. This design recalls the imagery of trains once moving through the hall, symbolizing the historical rail-based transportation of steel directly into the building via a turntable.
